Service Projects

Service goals for the year 2010-2011:

• To establish a library at Tihar Central Jail, New Delhi for the inmates.
• To establish a Vocational Library at Karala Village at Navjyoti Foundation College for Vocation
• To take care of Smt Sunita Jain Memorial Rotary Centre for Child Development, Neurology & Behavioural Sciences

Service goals for the year 2009-2010 :

• Child Care Center at Sunder Lal Jain Hospital to cure deficiency in Pre-mature children of age 0-3 years.
• Avoidable Blindness Project (a) Free Cataract Surgery (b) Providing Spectacles free of charge.
• Voluntary Blood Donation Camps
• Support Vatsalaya Mandir Vocational Centre, Sewa Bharti and MCD School, Nehru Kutir and other projects
• To complete our on going full fledged Eye Bank Project.

Rotary Club of Delhi Uptown has been involved in various service projects on a continuous basis. The main community and vocational activities include :

Polio Eradication :

• Regular Polio Camps organized at Mukundpur and Bhalswa villages.
• Lacs of polio drops administered till date, on a continuous basis.

Blood Donation :

• Regular Camps regularly organized to collect additional units of blood.
• In the Year 2006-07, club donated a well equipped Blood Collection Van to Sunderlal Jain Hospital.
• Contributing to Cancer Foundation and adopting cancer patients.
• Annual Computer Donation to Vatsalya Mandir.
• Spectacles Distribution & Cataract Surgeries.
• Scholarships to meritorious and needy children.
